Sri Venkateswara Swamy Swarnagiri Temple Hyderabad

The Swarnagiri Venkateswara Swamy Temple, also known as the Yadadri Tirumala Devasthanam, is located on the Manepalli Hills in Bhuvanagiri, Telangana. The temple is located approximately 47.3 kilometers from Hyderabad and is built on 22 acres of land. The hill on which this new temple is built is named “Swarnagiri.”

The temple’s design reflects the architecture of the ancient Pallava, Vijayanagara, Chola, and Chalukya empires. Large Rajagopurams are built on all four sides of the temple, along with large mandapams, and a five-story Vimana Gopuram over the sanctum sanctorum. The story behind the construction of the temple

The construction of the Swarnagiri Temple is linked to a miraculous event. Srimati Vijayalakshmi, wife of renowned industrialist Sriman Manepalli Rama Rao, fell into a coma after a serious accident. Doctors had given up hope, but she was saved after being administered holy water from Tirupati. Following this miracle, the family decided to build a grand temple on their own land to express their gratitude to the Lord. The temple took more than seven years to complete.

The Swarnagiri Venkateswara Swamy Temple is magnificently built. Four large Rajagopurams (entrances) surround the temple, leading to the spacious pavilions within. A five-story Vimana Gopuram, built above the sanctum sanctorum, enhances the temple’s beauty from afar. Inside the sanctum sanctorum is a 12-foot-tall statue of Lord Sri Venkateswara, considered the largest in Telangana.
The temple also boasts a 120-foot-high Hanuman Mandapa, which houses a 40-foot-tall statue of Lord Hanuman carved from a single stone. It also houses India’s second-largest bronze bell, weighing approximately 1.5 tons. The temple’s Jala Narayana Swamy Sannidhi (water-filled sanctum sanctorum) looks stunning in the evening when illuminated.

Secunderabad Junction is about 44 kilometers away from the temple. From Bhongir station, you can easily reach the temple by taking a taxi or cab.
