What to do to get a new passport?
- Firstly lodge an FIR in the nearest police station along with a copy of the passport.
- If you are unable to do the first step, book an appointment with the nearest Regional Passport Office (RPO).
- During this, you have all the necessary documents suggested by the employee including the necessary documents like address proof, Aadhaar card and birth certificate.
- Applicants can also book the application process online through the official Passport Seva website.
- Log in with your registered ID or you can also choose the ‘Tatkal’ option to get an early appointment.
- Now choose the date of payment and appointment as per your convenience.
- Note that a processing fee will be required for lost passports.
- On the other hand, to get a new passport, the regular process of passport issuance has to be followed.
