Only a few days are left for the visit to Kedarnath temple, because the doors of Baba Kedarnath will be closed for the winter. Let us tell you, every year in the early days of winter, the doors of the temple are closed for the darshan of the devotees. After this, the doors are opened directly in the next year i.e. in the month of April or May. This year in 2024, the doors of Baba’s temple were opened on 10 May.
Let us tell you, as soon as the doors were opened this year, a crowd of lakhs had reached to see Baba, due to which many people could not even have darshan and the crowd was so much that the devotees had to return from halfway. But now the devotees have time, if you want to have darshan before the doors are closed, then know the date of closing of the temple once.
The doors of Kedarnath will be closed on this day
Now less than a month is left for the Kedarnath temple visit. For the winter season, Baba Kedarnath’s doors will be closed on November 3, i.e. on Bhaidooj at 8:30 am. Then for the next 6 months, Baba Kedarnath’s darshan will be at his winter seat, Shri Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath. Along with Kedarnath, the doors of the four Dhams are also closed on these dates. The date of closing of Badrinath’s doors has not been announced yet, its date will be decided on Dussehra.
Gates of Gangotri and Yamunotri
The doors of Gangotri Dham will be closed on Annakoot festival, while the doors of Yamunotri Dham will also be closed on Bhaiya Dooj along with Kedarnath, which is on November 3, while Annakoot is on November 2. However, the date and time will be announced by the committee of Gangotri and Yamunotri temples as per their convenience. In this way, the doors of all the four Dhams will be closed after Diwali.
Doli will be lifted from Kedarnath temple
According to the schedule of the movable idol doli of Lord Kedarnath, on November 3, the movable idol doli will depart from Kedarnath Temple at 8:30 am. Thereafter it will reach Rampur for night rest. On November 4, the doli will depart from Rampur in the morning and passing through Phata, Narayakoti, will reach Shri Vishwanath Temple Guptkashi for night rest.
On November 5, the movable idol doli will depart from Shri Vishwanath Temple Guptkashi at 8:30 am and then will reach Shri Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath, its winter seat at 11:20 am. Where Baba’s darshan is given for the next 6 months.
Why are the doors of all the four Dhams closed?
After the festival of Bhai Dooj and Diwali, the cold increases, and due to the four Dhams being at a high altitude, the cold remains even more extreme here. The path to reach all these Dhams is also very difficult, which becomes even more difficult during the winter. As you reach the height, breathing problems start due to the cold.
At the same time, people also face difficulty in getting help due to lack of facilities. There is also heavy snowfall at these places during the winter. This is the reason why Kedarnath darshan is stopped after Bhaiya Dooj.
