It may look like a worthy competitor to the Taj in Mumbai, but it’s not a five star hotel. It is a unique pod hotel designed with modern facilities at the Mumbai railway station.
At the Mumbai Central Railway station 3000 sqft area of this particular station has been transformed into Pod Hotel. There are 48 capsule like rooms in all complete with televisions, mobile charging points and reading lights inside the air conditioned pods. Separately, passengers can avail free WiFi and access shower rooms in the common area of the hostile premises like Japan and sufficient places and it is like five star experience for any person.
The Pod Hotel was first developed in Japan.
Passengers can book the pod for twelve or 24 hours and the price varies from Rs999 to Rs2999 depending on the duration of the stay and the category one selects. This is a pod concept based room, which Western Delay and Indian Airways has developed it for the first time.
The Pod Hotel comprises of three categories, 30 classic pods, seven ladies only, ten private pods, and one for differently abled passengers. To make a booking, you need to have a valid train ticket.
