Delhiites liked Arabic food
These days Arabic dish Mandi is in news in Jama Masjid area. Jawahar Hotel owner Mohammad Bilal says that these days we are specially serving Arabic food Mandi because customers are liking it a lot. This way they are getting something different and good taste. It is available in two varieties. First is Chicken Mandi and second is Laham Mandi which is made of Mutton. It has roasted chicken and dry fruits and rice are added on top and it is made in Desi Ghee. Rajbir who came to taste the food in Old Delhi area says that he has tasted this new dish Mandi and it is very good to eat.
What is available at Kallan Sweets
Kallan Sweets makes Keema Samosa only during Ramzan. He says that this is a 30 Rupee Samosa filled with chicken. Kallan Sweets owner Naved says that people stay hungry the whole day during Ramzan, so it is prepared keeping these things in mind. For this reason, this samosa is prepared only for Ramzan. Then, if it is made and sold every day, its charm will also be lost.
Cafe culture has also started
Old Delhi is already popular for its traditional and spicy food. Now, like New Delhi, the cafe culture is also gaining momentum here. People who do not want to eat in traditional hotels, spend time with their friends in cafes. These cafe owners say that the crowd usually comes to their cafes at night. Nishant, the general manager of Gumbad Cafe here, says that people keep coming to our cafe, but at night so many customers come that it becomes difficult to find a place.
Turkish food, Mediterranean, Mughlai food is available here
Nishant said, we serve all kinds of Arabian food including Mandi in our cafe. We also serve Turkish food, Mediterranean, Mughlai and Continental cuisine. Arabic food is also included in Mediterranean food. For this we have hired special chefs who have come after learning the work from Dubai and other countries. Ebony Cafe owner Mohammad Saddam Khan says that we serve things like coffee, shakes, pasta, pizza and mocktails because these things are not available in the traditional hotels here.
Tasty veg along with non veg
Although Jama Masjid area is famous for its non-veg dishes, but there are many options for vegetarians too. These options range from starters to main course. This is solving the problem of those who are coming here to taste non-veg with their vegetarian friends. Mohammad Akram, owner of Al Jawahar Hotel, says that his hotel serves many dishes like matar paneer, shahi paneer and aloo matar in veg. Mohammad Bilal of Jawahar Hotel also says that we have many dishes like paneer tikka, kadhai paneer, dal fry and palak paneer in veg. Prajjwal, who came here to eat with his friends, says that some of us eat non-veg, but some people are vegetarian too. Veg food is as good as non-veg food here.
