Karna Lake is a popular tourist destination located in the Karnal district of Haryana. Also known as Karna Tal, the lake looks spectacular at sunset. Babur Mosque
Babur Mosque is also one of the places to visit in Karnal. It was built by Mughal emperor Babur in 1528 to celebrate his victory over Ibrahim Lodi. The mosque, surrounded by walls, once had a magnificent garden. The well here is still filled with cold water, although the outer structure has become a ruin.
Sita Mai Temple
This temple is the only abode of Goddess Sita in the entire country. Its intricate architecture is a feast for the eyes and will compel you to admire the intricate carvings on the bricks here. By looking at the distinctive style here, one can tell that the bricks were carved before being fired in the kiln.
Tomb of Miran Sahib
The tomb of Miran Sahib was built for the mystic saint Miran. Syed Mohammed or Miran Sahib was a mystic saint known for his unique compositions. Interestingly, it is said that only his head was buried in Karnal. After he was killed in battle, his body was buried in Muzaffarnagar in neighbouring Uttar Pradesh, while his head was brought to Karnal. You can reach Karnal from Delhi via National Highway 44 (NH-44). This route is direct and easily accessible.
The road journey takes approximately 2-3 hours, depending on the traffic conditions.
Bus Service: Regular Haryana Roadways buses are available from Delhi’s Kashmiri Gate ISBT that will take you to Karnal.
By Train: Direct trains are available from New Delhi Railway Station to Karnal. The journey takes approximately 2-3 hours.
