There have been indications of Nepal’s famous Pashupatinath temple being reopened , popular among Indian tourists . The personnel of the Vail Trust have been given such instructions to operate the Pashupatinath temple. The Culture Minister of Nepal has asked the trust staff operating the Pashupatinath Hindu Temple to start preparations to reopen the temple. Special worship was banned in this prestigious religious site in view of the increase in the cases of Kovid-19.
Addressing the review meeting of the Pashupati Kshetra Vikas Trust (PADT), Yogesh Bhattarai asked the employees of the organization to launch a development initiative in this temple which is included in the list of UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Bhattarai said, ‘I have received a complaint that PADT is acting in the interest of middlemen. Whoever is involved in it is not good and should be stopped immediately. Before working on any plan, consider the interest of the religious site.
The minister instructed the staff to make preparations to open the Pashupatinath temple at a certain time during the day, adopting health and safety measures, as reported by ‘The Rising Nepal’ newspaper. The minister cautioned the trust personnel, “Different individuals and groups are eyeing the assets of PADT. Therefore, you should be vigilant to control such activities.”
